Cătălin Oprițoiu is a senior lecturer in flute performance at the National University of Music Bucharest (UNMB), which he graduated under the guidance of Ioan Cațianis and Virgil Frâncu. He participated in masterclasses given by Demetrius Popp, Aurèle Nicolet, Philippe Boucly, Irena Graffenauer and has master’s degree in solo flute performance (Hochschule für Musik und Theater, Munich, with András Adorján), and a PhD in flute performance (UNMB, 2009). Cătălin Oprițoiu was soloist of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and of the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra in Bucharest. He founded the Camerata Classica (2005) and the Bucharest Symphonic Orchestra (2007), touring worldwide with latter as both its artistic director and soloist. He collaborated with such renowned musicians, such as Seiji Ozawa, Octav Calleya, Atsushi Nukii, Horia Andreescu, Sergiu Comissiona.
