Eka Dughashvili is a researcher at the Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts and associate professor at the St. Andrew the First – Called University of the Patriarchate of Georgia. She studied at the I. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (Faculty of the Classical and Byzantine Philology) and at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Byzantine philology). She defended her doctoral thesis in 2001: Ancient Georgian translations of Cosma Jerusalem’s hymnography according to 10th century hymnbook Iadgari. She is currently working on a new project: Biblical Scenes (The Old and New Testament) in the Decoration of the Georgian Manuscripts: Literary and Iconographical Sources.
