Magda Sukhiashvili

Magda Sukhiashvili is pedagogue and head of the Sacred Music Laboratory of Tbilisi State Conservatoire. She is also a member of Georgian National Committee of Byzantine Studies. Graduated from the Department of Music History at Tbilisi State Conservatoire (1987) and the Department of Christian Anthropology at Tbilisi Theological Academy (1994), Dr. Sukhiashvili holds a Ph.D. with the title Principal Aspects of the Canonic of the Ecclesiastical Chanting in Old Georgian Sacred Music. She is the author of many papers and the book Philimon Koridze (2004; co-author Ekaterine Sanikidze).
