Viniciu Moroianu (born in 1962) studied piano with Marta Paladi and Gabriel Amiraș. In 1973 he won his first national piano competition and afterwards became a laureate of international competitions in Paris (Guilde française des artistes solistes, 1979) and Bucharest (George Enescu, 1991). His extensive repertoire includes first performances as well as large-scale, more rarely performed works. He took part in international festivals in Besançon, San Jose, Graz, Chișinău, Bratislava, and performed with orchestras from Great Britain, Austria, Switzerland, Moldova and Bulgaria. The pianist played in live concerts for the European Broadcasting Union, the Romanian Radio and Radio Bartók. He recorded for labels in Romania and Greece. Viniciu Moroianu prepared the first editions of several works by Dinu Lipatti and Radu Paladi and he earned a PhD in Music with his thesis about Lipatti as composer. He is currently leading a piano class at the National Music University of Bucharest.
